These terms govern your use of the Indigent Management System ("the System"), operated by your municipality to administer indigent support in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and the municipality's approved indigent policy.

You agree to provide accurate and truthful information. Submitting false information to obtain indigent benefits may constitute fraud and can result in rejection of your application and/or legal action.

Approval of indigent support remains at the sole discretion of the municipality, subject to verification and the qualifying criteria of its indigent policy. Support may be reviewed, suspended or withdrawn if your circumstances change.

Your privacy is protected under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

We collect personal information (your ID number, contact details, household and income information) solely to assess and administer your indigent support application.

Your information is shared only with your municipality and authorised verification services (e.g. Home Affairs or credit-verification providers) where required to process your application. It is not sold or used for marketing.

Information is stored securely and retained per municipal records-retention rules. You may access and request correction of your information via the municipality's Information Officer.
